Media Awards Review

Checkmate
Out of all the year 12 clips that I had seen at the media awards, I had personally felt that the trailer checkmate was exceedingly thrilling. Checkmate is a horror trailer that had some really out bursting dramatic scenes that is based about three teenage girls that decide to go to the woods and then get killed one by one. What I liked about this trailer the most was the fact that they got straight to the point and it had a great narrative that made it simple for the audience to understand straight away. The trailer had some scenes that really caught my attention that were really gruesome and brutal. The camera shots of the scenes were mainly close up shots to capture the emotion and tenseness of the actresses, and these shots were shown really well.

·         The sounds of the trailer were really effective and made me feel as if I was actually there.(screaming’s in the background)
·         The camera shots and angles helped build tension
·         Make up on the actresses especially the killer were fantastic

·         If they made it seem a bit more original because it reminded me of other horror trailers.
I hate love
The clip I hate love is a music video that is about a young girl heartbroken and is mesmerising about her past relationship. The clip was showing us flashbacks about the past relationship that linked the song and video. The flashbacks were used in an interesting way that had used shot reverse shot, playing back and forth with different scenes that made us the audience understand what the narrative was all about.
WWW
·         The clip was really simple to understand and was easy to connect with
·         Seemed like an actually real music video with all the different camera shots that were used ( shot reverse shot)
·         The choice of colours that were used to relate with the emotions of the song and characters feelings for instants the red that was used connotes love and pain.
